WORKSHOP

May 10th - 11th 2007




The workshop "Sudan - The Colonial Experience" will be arranged at SMI from May 10th - 11th 2007. The aim of the workshop is to gather researchers working on the Sudan in order to prepare an application to the Seventh Research Framework Programme (FP7).

The application will be part of the topic Cooperation, Socio-economic sciences and the humanities programme under Activity 8.4 "Europe in the World", “Development paths in an historical and comparative perspective and their impact on Europe”. Work Programme

10:00 – 11:00 Chris M. Prior (University of Durham): Bonds of empire: The metropole and the official in the Anglo-Egyptian Sudan, 1918-1939.

11:15 – 12:15 Presentation by Fadwa Taha (University of Khartoum)

12:15 – 13:15 Lunch

13:15 – 15:00 Workshop – FP7 application: General information about the work programme and discussion on key words and work packages to be included in the proposal.

15:30 – 16:30 Joint presentation by Randi Haaland (University of Bergen) and Salah M. Ahmed (University of Khartoum)

Research Management will inform and answer questions about FP7.

12:00 – 13:00 Lunch

13:00 – 15:00 Workshop – FP7 Application: Definition of work packages (titles and participants). Distribution and planning of future work on the application.
