7th International Sudan Studies Conference 2006
6th - 8th April 2006, University of Bergen, Norway
"Fifty Years After Independence: Sudan's Quest for Peace, Stability
and Identity"
Since the late 1960s, scholars at the University
of Bergen have conducted research in the Sudan, and benefited greatly
from academic exchange and cooperation with colleagues from the Sudan.
In light of this history, the University of Bergen is honoured to host
the 7th International Sudan Studies Conference, 6-8 April 2006. The
International Conference is held every third year, and will gather Sudanese
academics and researchers from around the world who are working on the
Sudan. The conference will be organized by the Sudan Studies Association,
SSA and the
Sudan Studies Society of the United Kingdom, SSSUK
in cooperation with the Centre for Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies.
